||Bottleneck John offers ol'timey acoustic blues, hokum & spirituals with roots deep in the 1920-30's Mississippi Delta mud, intense, rough and fast-paced but sometimes also laid-back and emotional! Blues as it sounded a long time ago, just a voice and acoustic instruments, a foot stomping pace on the floorboards replaces the drums.
John says… "I guess this is THE music that touches my soul the most?! It must be, I haven't found any music yet that can compare to these old recordings in terms of soul, feeling and honesty.."
BJ’s been touring throughout Europe and has also made a U.S. tour in the southern states of Mississippi, Tennesee and Arkansas with gigs at clubs and festivals such as the legendary King Biscuit Blues Festival in Helena!
Performing solo but also duo’s, trio’s and in full bands, playing blues festivals, clubs, concert halls, private concerts, churches, coffee houses, pubs or in the streets.. Playing vintage and new resonator guitars in open tunings and have one foot pounding out the rhythm on the floorboards. Mostly classic tunes from Robert Johnson, Charley Patton, Son House, Blind Willie Johnson, Skip James, Bo Carter, Bukka White etc. But just as often his own songs in the genre.
